Good Item To Bring:
- Sunscreen
- Camera
- Hat
- Water Bottle
For those camping Friday night
The campsite is the same site that we will use the next morning for the event. You will not need to travel to get to the event site.
Water and toilets are provided but that's about it for Friday night. If you are not planning on getting food on the way to the campground Friday night then you'll want to bring food as well as the means of preparing it (camp stove etc.) Picnic tables are available.
Food:
Dinner - If you are not planning on cooking Friday night at the campsite then I would recommend stopping on the way in Waterford at one of a few fast food places there. You can eat there or get the food and bring it on up to the campsite. There is also a grocery store if that is more your speed. Most of this stuff is in the same shopping center on the right side of Hwy 132 as you enter Waterford from the Modesto area.
Breakfast - There really isn't anything close enough to make sense for breakfast so if you want to keep it simple you can bring some instant oatmeal (we have hot water for you), breakfast bars or muffins work well, or any other easy low or no-prep meals are what I would suggest. We'll also have some doughnuts at the campsite that you can buy.
There are no showers available.
We will have a camp fire available so if you want S'mores Friday night bring the ingredients as well as roasting sticks.
If you are bringing a son in 5th grade or up it may be a good idea to bring swim suits since one event is the canoe race and sometimes ... well ... a few people get wet.
Don't forget to bring:
- Tent
- Sleeping pad
- Sleeping bag
- Flashlights
- Latern
- Bug spray
- Games for Friday night (cards, board games etc.)
I'm available any time if you have questions.
See you there!
